Hello from America! I have really enjoyed watching the SKAM episodes over the past month or so. I find it fascinating how much this show resembles adolescent years. Even though it focuses on teenagers at a Swedish school, it resembles American culture a lot. The teenagers wear normal clothes, they curse, they use their phones, and they have sex. The show is raw and honest. Also, most teenagers do not want to have close relationships with adults. A lot of shows in America do not show the most real parts of teenage life, but this show misses nothing. I also enjoy how most people are very accepting of Isak and Even. Almost everyone still loves him and treats him the same, which is nice to see because even though his mother goes to church, she still has the same amount of love, and she doesn’t try to condemn him. After coming out to my Christian mother, I wasn’t given the same positive response. I also love seeing how Isak is still popular after revealing his relationship with Even. Isak is portrayed as one of the most normal teenagers. He isn’t depicted as a stereotypical gay guy, but he has someone like that in his life (Esklid). Also, the show addresses mental health in a realistic way. Isak is afraid at first after realizing that Even has bipolar disorder, but none of his friends have negative views of mental disorders, which is different from America. In America, if you have a mental health issue, no one talks about it and people are afraid to be involved with you. In SKAM, mental health is portrayed realistically, and we see that being depressed doesn’t necessarily mean feeling like killing yourself, and being manic doesn’t mean crashing your car. Swimming in a stranger’s pool and going on a pricey trip are things that can actually happen during manic episodes. This show has shown me a lot, and I am excited to watch it in the future and learn more about the characters. I hope that it will be easier to see episodes in English, and hopefully an English version will be coming in the near future.
If you really like this show that much you should have known it´s NORWEGIAN, not Swedish 😛

I am a boy from Brazil, and I’m totally in love with this show, Skam is such a real program, you know? Relatable. But I do not understand norwegian, I’m trying to learn a little bit, but it’s hard. It would be awesome if you guys could provide english subtitles! Sorry if this request sounds rude, but specially in this 3rd season, I saw myself in Isak’s problems and in his daily struggles with his sexuality, would it be awesome if I could keep up with the show more easily.

I love the show as a lot of people around the world do. Your language is beautiful but sadly most of us outside outside norway don’t understand it so it would really help a lot if you would make the effort of giving us english subtitles and english translation for the texts you post in here. There’s lovely people out there doing this job and i’m endlessly thankful to them but sometimes it’s hard to find it, so you would make us easier to enjoy the show, and you will get even more audience. Please, take this into consideration. XX and congrats for this amazing and interactive show.

Skam is so influential and informative yet so entertaining and funny! I love Skam so much. I love how it’s «interactive» and all that jazz. I live in finland so the language barrier is pretty bad so english subtitles woudld be so lovely!!! you have tons and tons of fans outside of norway too! Isak and evens story is so beautiful. For mig er det likegyldigt om du har norsk undertekst eller ingen, for det går bra for mig at forstå hva de sier, for på Farøyerne vor jeg er fra, her har vi hatt norsk musik og norske utsendelser på Tv»een siden det startede at sende tv her. Så er det mye veldigt at den serie er på norsk for oss. Mange af de uttalelser som de bruker er veldig liknende våre uttalelser. Jeg veit ikke om det er Eva’s dialekt fra Bergen som gjør at hennes uttalelser likner så mye mere? Men der er mange setninger (sentences) som er liknende (Faroese language) som opstår af norsk. Men veldig bra! Jeg gleder meg til neste episoderne og sesonger, ha det bra! Hilsen, bjørn.
