I think you are narrow minded now. Skam has brought the subject into the sun and that is much needed. We need to talk about mental illness and now SKAM made us do.
You also have to remember that SKAM shows one persons situation, if you can’t see that and if you atre so effected you should stop watching. It is not SKAM that is wrong it is your thought and reaction to it.

The extras in the background are the actual Nissen students, thus they should be representative of the actual student body. Things would have looked different had they set skam in a school in another part of town.

It’s sad that Skam really has no empathy for a character with mental illness, something millions on millions on millions of people will be able to relate to regardless of age gender wealth class race, something that ends in suicide, self harm, isolation. Even when discussing this series the issue is not raised once because it was nothing but a dramatic plot point. I hope never to encounter whoever had anything to do with this. I feel so shit, watching series 3 now, so triggered and used my condition being taken advantage of for views. I’m crying right now. I’m so upset.

what? the whole season shows just how Even isolates himself because of his illness, how he’s trying to distance himself from Isak because he’s scared of him not loving him. We know that he switched schools because of his illness and probably lost a lot of friends in the process. The whole season hinted at suicidal tendencies with the Romeo and Juliet references. He also wrote a suicide text to Isak in the «O helga natt» clip but fortunately Isak made it to him in time. We also see how he after his manic episode is still trying to cut himself of from the guy that loves him because he feels like he’s a burden to him. And Isak is there assuring him that he won’t leave him and that they will take one minute at a time. I don’t see how this is in anyway used for views? Evens bipolar disorder is used as way more than just a plot point.
I do agree that Isak’s mothers schizophrenia may have been used as a plot point, because she seems very isolated since both Isak and his dad left her is that what you’re referring to? Well skam is a show about youth and adults don’t get any focus in the show and it was kind of important to Isaks relationship with Even. But then again I’m not here to tell you how to feel, I don’t understand your reasoning but you are entitled to your own feelings. If this show triggers you too much than maybe you shouldn’t watch it. Put your own health first and try to watch shows that don’t trigger you this way, all media can’t be made safe for everyone unfortunately.
